Born in Niigata in 1961. Shigeno has entered the Department of Cinema, College of Art, Nihon University in 1981. He started a band, VIZION, with Kenjiro Sakiya, who was in the Department of Music in the same year. Upon his graduation, Shigeno worked for some TV CM production, music production, record label and so on. After launching his own business in 1989, Shigeno composed music for the film “Bataashi Kingyo” directed by Joji Matsuoka. It was his first time to compose film music. He founded a music production and publishing company, "AND MUSIC LTD.," and played an active role to compose music mainly for films, commercials and TV programs. Shigeno seeks to create “films for music” as well as “music for films.” Shigeno’s best known works include“ Mourning Forest,”(The GrandPrix at Cannes)“ Moe no Suzaku.”
