Akira OOKA

Born in Tokyo in 1958. Ooka have completed the master's degree of Romance linguistics in Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. In 1989, “ Tasogare no Storm seeding” had won the 2th Mishima Yukio Awards and in 1990, “ Hyousou Seikatsu” had won the 102th Akutagawa Awards. Since, He became to work as a writer seriously. Ooka’s best known works include “ Hi・No・Ma・Ru,” “ Mori no hito,” “ Black Magic,” and “ Eien no Natsu-yasumi,”. He is well versed in "Art" and "Food culture", so he had been MC on TV program of NHK “Nichiyo Bijutsu-kan ”(1995~1997), and he has written essay about food and fishing. He has also worked as a translator(mainly Italian) as well as writer. He has been the professor of Business Administration in Tokyo Keizai University since 2006.
